Mondial 1908 – Art Made in Italy
Founded in Florence in 1908 by master brush-maker Attilio Bagnoli, Mondial began in a small workshop in the Galluzzo district, where freshly boiled bristles were assembled by hand, one by one. Over more than a century, that artisanal touch has endured: even today every Mondial shaving brush is finished by hand, a craft handed down through five generations.

In the 1930s the factory moved within the city walls, the workforce grew and the family supplied Europe’s finest barbers. After World War II, Attilio’s descendants introduced safety razors, olive-wood bowls and travel sets, slipping the Mondial name into the suitcases of Italian gentlemen. The turning point came in 2000 when the fourth generation relaunched the brand with the Mondial 1908 collection, transforming the company into a luxury maison specialising in traditional shaving, grooming and perfumery.

Innovation and tradition constantly interact: the award-winning “Sphaera” set modernises Florentine classicism, while Hi-Brush synthetic fibres mimic badger softness without harming animals. In 2018 Mondial opened the “Gentlemen’s Barber” concept store near the Ponte Vecchio, where bespoke shaves and men’s skincare rituals are offered. Every cream, soap and aftershave is enriched with Tuscan-garden fragrances and natural ingredients from sustainable supply chains, reflecting the brand’s commitment to responsible luxury.

Today, at its 115th anniversary, Mondial exports to more than sixty countries yet continues to manufacture in Florence, selecting seasoned woods, precious metals and fine resins with the same meticulous care shown in 1908. With every product, the artisan’s hand distils a century of Italian savoir-faire, turning daily grooming into an experience of pure sensory pleasure and timeless style.
