Mondial 1908 – Artistry Made in Italy
Founded in Florence in 1908 by master brush-maker Attilio Bagnoli, Mondial began life in a small workshop in the Galluzzo district, where freshly boiled bristles were assembled one by one by hand. In more than a century that artisan gesture has never been lost: to this day, every Mondial shaving brush is still finished by hand, following a ritual passed down through five generations.

In the 1930s the factory moved within the city walls, staff numbers grew, and the family began producing for the finest barbers across Europe. After World War II, Attilio’s children and grandchildren introduced safety razors, olive-wood bowls and travel sets, putting the Mondial name into the luggage of Italian gentlemen. The real turning point came in 2000, when the fourth generation took over and launched the Mondial 1908 collection, transforming the company from a contract manufacturer into a luxury maison specialising in traditional shaving, grooming and fine fragrance.

Innovation and tradition are in constant dialogue: the multi-award-winning “Sphaera” set reinterprets Florentine classicism with minimalist lines, while Hi-Brush synthetic fibres replicate the softness of badger hair without harming animals. In 2018 the brand opened its “Gentlemen’s Barber” concept store just steps from the Ponte Vecchio—a salon-cum-lounge where guests can enjoy bespoke shaves and men’s skincare rituals. Every cream, soap or after-shave is enriched with fragrances inspired by Tuscan gardens and with natural ingredients sourced from sustainable supply chains, underscoring the brand’s commitment to responsible luxury.

Today, on its 115th anniversary, Mondial exports to more than sixty countries yet continues to produce in Florence, selecting seasoned woods, precious metals and fine resins with the same meticulous care shown in 1908. With every stroke of the brush, the artisan’s hand encapsulates a century of Italian savoir-faire, turning the daily shave into an experience of pure sensory pleasure and timeless style.
