CotPyr – Pyr\u00e8n\u00e8es\/BBW generously sized natural sharpening stone with two combined grits.
\nThe first side (grey colour) has an estimated grit of 1200 and the second side (purple colour) has an estimated grit of 4000.
\nThis combination sharpening stone makes it possible to obtain a good bevel in a short time (of course the experience component of the user always makes a difference in obtaining a good result).
\nBoth sides are ready to use.
\nSIDE 1
\nThe side with Pyr\u00e8n\u00e8es stone (grey colour) has an estimated grit 1200 and is indicated for the first sharpening phase, i.e. the creation of the bevel and\/or the elimination of any “chips” present on the edge of the razor blade.
\nSIDE 2
\nThe side with BBW stone (dark purple colour) with estimated grit 4000 is indicated for the pre-finishing phase. It can be used as a “second phase” after having obtained the bevel on the 1200 side of the Pyr\u00e8n\u00e8es stone, or as a separate phase before going on to finishing stones such as Belga yellow Selected or black Slate.
\nIf you want to lapping the stone, it is recommended to use only the blue Belgian side (BBW “purple colour” – grit 4000) as the manufacturer does not recommend to lapping on the Pyr\u00e8n\u00e8es side (grey colour from grit 1200) because it risks to close the pores and compromise the correct abrasive function of the stone.
\nHow to use: Wet the stone on the Pyr\u00e8n\u00e8es side (grey colour) with water and work with the razor to obtain the bevel.
\nBefore switching to the BBW side (dark purple), we suggest to work under running water in order to remove residues from the blade.
